NEVER trust what a distributor says! You’d think I’d learn this by now, but I haven’t. On Father’s Day, we featured the Kilchoman (Winter 2010 Release) Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This was a long lost release that shouldn’t have been available, but I was told it was. Long story short, my distributor made a HUGE mistake and didn’t have the cases. Instead, they had the Kilchoman (Spring 2011 Release) Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Not even remotely the same and heads rolled because of this HUGE mistake.

Here’s the thing. I didn’t return the Spring 2011 Release cases. I could return them, but it would be more fun to promote the bottles at a really low cost, which ALWAYS causes trouble. So, I’m going to put the Spring 2011 Release on sale for $49.99/bottle. On average, this bottle normally retails for $60 or higher. I was also told this might be the only release in 2011, so this might be your one shot to get a 2011 release.

Tuesday’s promotion on La Palma’s Chardonnay took off like wild fire – WHY? Because Seth & Steve are crazy – they took the original case price of $120 and CUT IT IN HALF: $60/case!?! The fact that it did so well led us to repeat the deal on the 2008 La Palma Sauvignon Blanc. BOOM- by the case, this gets down to $5 a bottle, 62% OFF, for a wine that drinks like a wine three times its price.

Chile’s warm sun creates this juicy, tropically-flared wine that is loaded with peach and lemon-lime. After tasting it, Brian and I jumped all over this deal and am offering it up as a one-shot offer. Once we sell out, the deal is done. Act Now on this Fabulous Summertime Sauvignon Blanc!!!

Everyone has been asking me about Jim Beam Devil’s Cut Bourbon Whiskey. Here’s the quick-and-dirty on this whisky. When whiskey is aged, a certain amount of the liquid is lost to evaporation. They call that the “Angel Share”. After the aging process, when the bourbon is dumped, a certain amount of whiskey is still trapped in the wood of every barrel. They call that the “Devil’s Cut”. Jim Beam has created a process that extracts the Devils Cut, which they then blend with their 6yr whiskey. JB Devil’s Cut will be rolling in soon, but I know allocation will be tight. As a result, I’m offering a pre-sale for my wholesale cost of $21.09/bottle. When it comes to these types of products, everyone wants the first release. Now is your chance to get it.

Yes-you are getting a lot of wine emails, not just from us, but from the whole world, but mark my words, you will only get one chance in your lives to buy today’s wine!!! This is only the third vintage in twelve decades (that’s 120 years !?! for you math majors) in which La Rioja Alta has bestowed the designation Reserva Especial on one of its wines. The other two vintages were 1973 and the downright mythical 1964.

The 2001 La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza Reserva Especial is a blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha, showing a kaleidoscopic of flavors, with Indian spice, Vanilla, and a top note of cherry that is singing right now! Wine Spectator gave it 94 points, is usually $35/bottle, but I am slashing the price 29%, bringing it to $24.99/bottle!!! I also have magnums (***extremely limited***) that are being slashed for today’s offer. Act now!

About once every 10 years or so, a beer distributor will try and sell wine and a wine distributor will try and sell beer. At the end of the day, they each fail miserably and return to their respective distribution expertise. You’d think they’d learn, but they don’t. While it’s never good to fail, it’s great for the retailer because they can usually get some phenomenal deals if they know what they are looking for.

Well, it’s been 10 years and one of our beer distributors tried to sell wine. Not surprising, it didn’t work and now they are dumping their inventory. We got a few deals and today we will be featuring the Vina La Rosa La Palma Estate Chardonnay Case Deal. Truthfully, I’m shocked my beer distributor handled this brand. It DEFINITELY should have gone to one of our bigger wine distributors. We will be featuring this wine for $60/case, which breaks it down to $5/bottle. It normally sells for $9.99/bottle, which means you are getting a 50% discount. Your Quality to Price ratio is through the roof. You will not go wrong with buying a few cases of this wine. Personally, I would take it over Kendall Jackson, Woodbridge, Yellow Tail or any other white at a comparable price range. STOCK UP!

Quintessa‘s Argentinian SuperRed, their Cruz Andina Malbec, was the start of something HUGE when I ran a special on its first release two years ago! Today, the 2008 Cruz Andina Malbec is an even better-made wine, thanks to Augustin Huneeus, owner of Quintessa, having brought in Chile’s greatest winemaker, Alvaro Espinosa, to make today’s gorgeous Argentinian Malbec that just nailed 91 points from Wine Spectator.

I was so impressed with this complex, sexy beast of a wine that I secured the lion’s share of the state’s allocation. It is sold out at the winery, the state is not being allocated any more, and I’m currently the only person who’s got it. I am slashing 41% Off the Regular Price, plummeting the price to $17.09/bottle!!!

This is a no-brainer buy of at least a 6-pack or case at a time. You won’t be disappointed! Cheers.

I’ve gotta say that I have always been a HUGE fan of the Chimney Rock Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District Napa Valley. We all know that 2007 was probably the best vintage out of California in years and, as a result, I was really excited to try the Chimney Rock 2007. I was blown away. This is probably the best vintage I’ve had in about 7 years. The critics must have agreed because the Wine Enthusiast rated it 94pts and the Wine Spectator rated it 92pts. That’s some of the highest scores they have ever gotten. Since this is one of my favorite wines, I’m going to put it on sale for my wholesale cost of $47.09/bottle. If you lay this wine down, it will blow you away in a few years. Personally, I don’t have that kind of patience.

I’m only interested in doing new, interesting and progressive things. I don’t want to get in the rut of doing the same stuff over and over again. As a result, I’m always pushing the distilleries to do something innovative. Unfortunately, a lot of producers are stuck in the past and don’t like breaking the mould. However, there are a few trail-blazers. In my opinion, the Kentucky Bourbon Distillers are way ahead of the curve. There are open to trying just about anything. And believe me when I say I’ve discussed some “out there” concepts.

Now, I knew I wanted to do a Single Barrel bottling, but didn’t want to do another bourbon. KBD then said they have a stock of 3yr cask strength rye. I was immediately intrigued, but a little skeptical because I had no idea what to expect. I got the samples and barrel #125 immediately caught my attention. As soon as I opened the bottle I was smacked in the face with vanilla, maple syrup, coconut and creamy caramel. Truthfully, I thought it was bourbon and everyone else that nosed it has thought the same thing. I have NEVER had a rye like this in my life. Well, the bottles are now here and on sale for $34.99/bottle. All of the barrels we have gotten from KBD have sold out in a day, so you might want to jump on this deal now!

In just a very short period of time, Kilchoman Distillery has made a HUGE name for itself in the Scotch Whisky world. If you remember, the Kilchoman Summer Release 2010 was named “Artisan Whisky of the Year” by the Malt Advocate. Allocation was uber-tight and we only got 5 cases that sold out in 20 minutes. A few months later, we were expecting to get another small allocation of the Summer Release, but due to a warehouse error they sent us the Kilchoman Winter Release 2010. This mistake was a HUGE score because the Winter Release was rated HIGHER than the Summer Release. In fact, NJ wasn’t even supposed to get the Winter Release. Those cases sold out in about 10 minutes.

So, my salesman called me on Friday and said they got 10 cases of the Kilchoman Winter Release 2010. We have been expecting these cases for a while. I took the full allocation. You now have another opportunity to get this whisky. Just keep in mind that I only have 60 bottles available. If it were up to me, I’d take the Winter Release over the Summer Release. Just remember… If you blink these cases will be gone!

NOTE: Cases will not arrive until Tuesday, June 21st. Shipments will begin following their arrival.
