My distributor did something a little weird with the 2006 Laurel Glen Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine was rated 93pts by Stephen Tanzer and has a retail price between $50-$60/bottle. Now, this is where it gets weird. This is a six-pack case, but for some reason my distributor put together seven-packs. I’ve been in this industry a long time and I’ve NEVER seen a seven-pack. Nevertheless, this pack will now allow me to feature the Laurel Glen for $39.99/bottle. That’s a GREAT deal. I’m sure my distributor is looking for some distribution on this wine and expects most retailers to feature it at the “normal” price. Well, we aren’t “normal” and will feature it for $39.99/bottle. This is an INCREDIBLE deal on an INCREDIBLE wine. Take advantage of this deal.

Edwin and I just returned from a PHENOMENAL business trip through Napa & Sonoma where one of our nights were spent at Jordan Winery, a Chateau Haut-Brion inspired experience if ever there were one. We toured and tasted through this magnificent property and of course, I nailed several deals on many of their Library Holdings, including Magnums of wines that were previously ONLY available at the winery.

What you should also know is that effective May 1, Jordan will NOT be able to ship their wines to New Jersey given a change in the law, so you’ve gotta ACT NOW on this last shot buy-in opportunity on a decade’s worth of Library-held Cabernet from one of Wine & Spirits Magazine’s TOP ranked Restaurant brands in the nation! Cheers.

Spring is here, and with nice weather on the way it’s time to start planning your wine selections! Today, we’re featuring the 2010 Martin Codax Albarino. This Wine Enthusiast Top 100/90-pointer is designed to be enjoyed young. It has a great nose, and is dry and crisp on the finish – perfect for those springtime gastronomic delights like salads, seafood, and lighter pasta dishes! Check out what Wine Enthusiast had to say:

“A little leesy on the nose, but mostly it’s forward and lemony. The palate is citric and crips as a whistle, with lemon, green apple and a secondary sweetness akin to pineapple. Focused and clean on the finish: chiseled and defined.”

I’m putting this on sale for $11.95, which makes this is an amazing buy! One last thing: a certain someone’s special day is fast approaching – May 13th, I believe – and if you need ideas, you might have to look no further than the Buy Now button in this email. Cheers!

I wouldn’t say I have the best reputation when it comes to dealing with distributors and state managers. However, I think they are to blame. Call me a lot of things, but I’m a man of my word. If I say I’m going to do something then I’m going to do it. I can’t say the same about the distributors and state managers. If you set up a meeting, then show up. If you aren’t going to show up then just call and tell me. It’s not that difficult. And don’t lie. I would rather someone say they made a mistake instead of lying to cover it up. You have NO IDEA how much that upsets me.

That being said, if you deal straight up with me then I will do my best to help. For example, I just got a visit from the Avion Tequila rep. This rep is a good guy. He said he needed a little help moving some tequila. Well, it was more than a little help. I said I would do my best to move some cases, but I can’t promise anything. So, until further notice, I’m going to put all the Avion tequilas on sale for their wholesale cost. Believe it or not, I really like this tequila. I especially like the fact that they don’t add caramel coloring, which is why you see color variations. They also get HUGE reviews. For the money, I don’t think you will find better tequila. Hey, Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, so give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

For the rest of the day, I’m going to put a case of Yuengling Lager on sale for my wholesale cost of $15.10/case. Our shipping department is going to FLIP when they hear this because they HATE boxing up beer. I don’t blame them, actually. It’s a lot of work with no real pay-off. In fact, there’s no pay-off. That’s why I’m only doing it for the rest of the day. Truthfully, running this deal is only for my amusement. You gotta keep the shipping department on their toes!

“Simply put, readers will not want to miss these fabulous wines.”-Antonio Galloni of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, on the current wines of Marco Caprai

Caprai is widely regarded as the KING OF UMBRIA, revered for singlehandedly reinventing Umbria’s Wine Market by pouring money, time and passion into the local, ancient wines of his region. His most famous white wine, the 2009 Grechetto, is a lot like White Burgundy, and upon release, was $18/bottle. Today, I am offering it to you for $8.95, a 50% Discount on a wine that will BLOW YOU AWAY. MOVE FAST on this gem-I only got my hands on a few cases and given that it’s an END OF BIN BLOWOUT, once it’s gone, it’s gone for good! Cheers.
