We have a very limited number of cases left of the 2006 San Michele Amarone Classico. San Michele is our private label that contains Michele Castellani’s very own Colle Christi Amarone, which nailed 93 points from Wine Spectator and lists for $57/bottle. Shockingly, at $24.95 for the exact same wine, this has been our BEST SELLING AMARONE in history. BUT IT IS ALMOST GONE!

The next vintage is arriving in a few months direct from the winery, but the price is way up. Make no mistake about it, this will be the last time you will ever see today’s price. Act Now.

I’m a Passionate Guy, what can I say!?! When I taste a Seriously Kickass Red, and THEN can negotiate a price that is 58% lower than the release price, I go kinda GAGA, so YOU’D BETTER LISTEN UP!!! The 2006 Celler Grifoll Declara “Tossals”, an old vine blend of Garnacha and Carinena from Montsant, Spain, nailed 92 pts from Jay Miller of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, had a release price of $40, but is coming to you for $16.95/bottle (58% OFF).

Think about this for a second: at $17/btl, you’re getting a wine that OUTPERFORMS reds at $40-50, is drinking NOW and will age INCREDIBLY for at least another 5-8 years.

I bought up the supplier’s remaining inventory-DO NOT PASS on this one. Cheers.

READ ME VERY QUICKLY!!! I just scored the WHITE WINE OF THE SEASON, the highly coveted 2011 Badenhorst Chenin Blanc. The first time I heard about this wine was when the previous vintage nailed the #1 SPOT in Eric Asimov’s New York Times Wines of the Times Review last week. Nailing 2½ stars and “Best Value”, this wine was hailed as THE BEST from South Africa. The 2011 comes in at a lower price and is already promising to be one of the HOTTEST Finds of the Year.

Supplies will be EXTREMELY LIMITED, so orders will be filled on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. Even though the NY Times lists it for $16, I’m discounting the price to $10.95-Don’t Blink!

I want to start this eLetter by clarifying something about allocated items. There are ‘limited” items and then there are ‘LIMITED” items. For example, Dogfish Head beers are “limited” but each distributor gets multiple pallets to allocate to the market place. So, while no one account may get 10-20 cases, there are still a lot of accounts that get a piece of the pie. Now, a beer such as Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer Blauw/Blue is “LIMITED”. This beer, which was rated 100pts by ratebeer.com is in a completely different class. Do you now how many cases came into the state? 10 cases! Only 1-2 accounts will get this beer let alone know it even exists. We are one of those accounts and I’m happy to have gotten any allocation whatsoever. This is the type of beer you cellar like a fine wine. It will only get better with age. The time to buy it is now!

                    In-Store ONLY Promotion!

I have been getting a lot of odd-ball close-outs recently. Surprisingly, all of them have been selling exceptionally well. I attribute this to the fact that people are willing to try anything “alcoholic” as long as the price is right. Case in point: Hiram Walker Caramel Apple Liqueur. I have never carried or heard of this liqueur until I was offered a close-out on it. I wasn’t sure if I was going to bring it in because the first thing I thought about when I heard of ‘Caramel Apple” was Fall. FYI, fall is my favorite season. Nevertheless, I brought in the HW Caramel Apple, stacked it on the floor and it immediately started selling. I guess it wouldn’t have sold at $12/bottle, but will sell at $6.99/bottle. Shocking!!!!
