Now is the time of the year when Rose’s start rolling in. Like a lot of wines, the price of the Rose depends on the region it comes from. For example, the top region for Rose is Provence. In fact, Provence is recognized as THE world’s greatest producing region for Rose wines. A wine from this area can easily cost you $20/bottle or more. That being said, today’s special is on the L’Espirit De Sainte Marguerite Provence Rose. I sampled this wine yesterday and was blown away. It’s a dry Rose with beautiful red berry aromas and a slightly fruity taste. It would be the perfect match with fish or spicy foods or just with friends. This is a wine that originally retailed at $19.99, but we got an unbelievable deal and can feature it for $6.99/bottle. That breaks down to a 65% discount. Don’t be scared by the price. This wine is drinking beautifully. I can promise you won’t be disappointed. Stock up because you can easily drink this through the summer.

“At this price, it would be hard to find a better Cabernet.” Those aren’t my words, that’s what Neil Martin from the Wine Advocate wrote about the 2011 Vina Montes Classic Series Cabernet Sauvignon. He also rated it 90pts. As far as I’m concerned, Montes is the King of the Hill when it comes to Chilean wines. They have a long list of highly rated wines, but unfortunately many of them are expensive. That’s why it’s great to see such a great score on such an affordable Cabernet. Oh, I forgot to mention that I will be putting it on sale for $6.99/bottle. I didn’t see a cheaper price, so you want to jump on this deal now. This is definitely a wine you want to buy a case of.

I’ve been in the retail wine business a pretty long time and I’ve worked with A LOT of people who say they are “wine buyers”. Let me tell you something, 99% of these people don’t know ANYTHING about wine or how to properly buy it. In my experience, they just throw a dart at a salesman’s sell sheet and put it on the shelf. Believe me, it takes a fair bit of skill to pick a wine that customers want AND make money for the retailer.

That being said, here’s a wine I picked up that 99% of the “wine buyers” would miss: the 2009 Terrafina Morellino di Scansano.  This is a TEXTBOOK Italian Red from a region in Western Tuscany that was popular for about 20 minutes in the 1990’s but then disappeared from the public’s eye ever since. Because the press continues to harp on Hi-Octane Reds, you’re unlikely to discover wines like Terrafina, made in the Smooth, Subtle Classic style, the same old-school style that made Italy famous in the first place. Regularly $23/bottle, I am slashing the price of this Classic Italian Red by 48%, bringing it to you for $11.95/bottle. Cheers!

This is it, everyone. I’m finally dropping the price of the 2010 Cameron Hughes Lot 400 Cabernet Sauvignon to my wholesale cost of $17.99/bottle. I’m not really sure what else there is to say. We have sold MULTIPLE pallets of this wine and I’m down to my last 20 cases and I want them off the selling floor so I can replace them with something else. This is an incredible wine that will only get better with time.

Just remember, we offer free ground shipping on all wine orders over $300.

For whatever the reason, the Balvenie whiskies have taken a few significant price increases over the last year. When that happens, a retailer will buy in a little bit more inventory and then raise the price to make a few extra dollars. Unfortunately, sometimes sales completely stop and you’re stuck with surplus inventory. When that happens I just lower my price and try and thin out my inventory. That being said, I’m lowering the price on the Balvenie 21yr Single Malt Scotch Whisky to $160/bottle. That’s a pretty low price. In fact, can’t even buy it from my distributor at that price. Once my inventory goes down to a comfortable level, I will raise the price.

We have a dual 90pt rated wine for you today and I’m really excited about it because it’s an incredible wine. Triton Avante Mencia blew us all away. This is the kind of wine that over delivers, BIG TIME! Both the Wine Advocate and International Wine Cellar rated it 90pts and lists a retail price of $16/bottle. I’m featuring it on sale for $8.99/bottle. If I tasted you on this blind you’d think it was $20 or more. You’re crazy if you don’t buy a case of this wine. This is a No-Brainer!

If you’re a “cult” wine buyer then you will want to take advantage of this offer. I just got in our allocation of the 2010 David Arthur Estate Meritaggio. The David Arthur vineyard is located on a very small plot of land in Pritchard Hill. If you’re into high-end meritages, then this wine is for you. The Meritaggio is probably the most drinkable meritage on the market today. It’s a GORGEOUS wine that has deep, succulent and juicy dark berries and floral notes. I’m dead serious when I tell you this wine is ready to drink now, but will EXPLODE if you have the patience to lay it down for a few years. Rated 93pt by the Wine Advocate, I’m going to put it on sale for $49.99/bottle. I haven’t seen a lower price. I’d pick this wine over other wines double or triple the cost.
