This is it, everyone. I’m finally dropping the price of the 2010 Cameron Hughes Lot 400 Cabernet Sauvignon to my wholesale cost of $17.99/bottle. I’m not really sure what else there is to say. We have sold MULTIPLE pallets of this wine and I’m down to my last 20 cases and I want them off the selling floor so I can replace them with something else. This is an incredible wine that will only get better with time.

Just remember, we offer free ground shipping on all wine orders over $300.

I’m not going to bore you with specifics, but Knight’s Valley is best known for producing great Cabernets. Unfortunately, a lot of the really good wines from this area range in price from $25-$30/bottle. Not cheap, but I’m about to smash that with today’s deal.

The 2010 Michael Pozzan Cabernet Sauvignon Knight’s Valley is sourced from one of the top wineries in the area. Under normal circumstances I would tell you the winery, but the distributors’ owner has always been good to me and I don’t want to cause him any more problems. I accidentally caused some agita with a Chianti of theirs and I still feel bad about it. Regardless, I’m sitting with a few too many cases and want to move some through the system. Normally selling for $15/bottle, which is already a SCORE, I’m going to put it on sale for $11/bottle. I can promise you won’t find another Knight’s Valley with this quality for this price. You’re basically drinking a $30/bottle Cabernet for $11/bottle. Actually, there’s nothing “basically’ about it. You ARE drinking a $30/bottle Cabernet for $11/bottle.

This is it, folks. We just processed all our orders and gave everyone enough time to pick up their orders. Now that’s it’s all said and done, we still have some remaining cases of the 2010 Cameron Hughes Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 404 Stags Leap District Napa Valley. If you missed out the first time or wished you bought more, now is your second chance. They are still on sale for $24.99/bottle and I’m assuming they will be gone by the end of the day. Here’s the a link to the original email.

Sometimes you never know when or why you fall in love with a wine. It doesn’t have to be expensive or limited or cost over $200/bottle. It’s just as easy to be captivated by a wine that cost $10 as it does to be captivated by a wine that costs $200. That being said, we fell in love with a Cabernet that costs $9.99/bottle.

Today’s offer is on the 2011 La Forge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Right off the bat, this isn’t from California, but you’d bet money it was. In actuality it’s French but I would compare it to any $25 Alexander Valley Cabernet. Upfront fruit such as cherry, blackberry and currant, medium bodied, slight cedar and subtle tannins are the best way to describe this wine. This is the kind of wine you can drink all day long. You really have to try it, but don’t expect to find a rating. Admittedly it’s a very small brand coming from a very small distributor. It’s the “Diamond in the Rough” Cabernet that we have to hand sell, but we have a ton of repeat buyers, which is what you want. As I said before, it’s on sale for $9.99/bottle. Buy this wine in (12) bottle increments and ground shipping it free. I can honestly tell you I have not had one person come back and tell me they didn’t like La Forge. It’s great!

We will be getting another allocation of the Cameron Hughes Lot 400 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet. If you remember, we did a pre-sale on it a few months ago and we sold it out before the cases even walked in the door. We still have A LOT of people looking for it, so I guess it’s a good thing we are getting more cases.

That being said, the price will be $24.99/bottle, which is still cheaper than they are selling it on CHwine.com. If you missed out the first time then here’s your second chance. Don’t say I didn’t give you the heads-up if you miss out, again.

NOTE: CASES WILL BE DELIVERED TO SHOPPERS VINEYARD ON TUESDAY JANUARY 15th, 2013

Check out the CHwine.com website for the Lot 400 and be sure to listen to Cameron’s review.

I want to talk about Mayacamas Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. If you have been a “wine enthusiast” for the last 30 years you will be familiar with this winery. If not, you probably aren’t familiar with it. Back in the day, Mayacamas was famous for the big Cabernet. They still have big, dusty Cabernets, but they’re not quite as famous. Mayacamas fell off the radar because they stopped submitting their wines for review. Once your wines aren’t on the review scene people tend to forget about you, unfortunately. Of course, I have a feeling they are going to explode back on the scene.

The word around the water cooler is the 2007 Mayacamas Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is going to be getting a HUGE score from one of the major reviewers. How did this happen since they don’t submit wines for review? I heard one of the reviews just went into the winery and sampled it. As for the score, the rumor is its closer to 100pts than it is to 90pts. Can I be 100% sure about this? No, but I’d bet money on it. I’d jump on it before the review comes out because it will be a firestorm if the review is released.

I completely forgot to feature the 2006 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon before Christmas. Better late than never, so here goes nothing. The 2006 Beringer Private Reserve was rated 93pts by the Wine Advocate and the International Wine Cellar with a release price of $110/bottle. I’m going to SMASH that price by featuring it for $60/bottle! That’s a 46% discount! Just to put everything on the table, I’m able to feature this price because the winery had extra inventory and asked my distributor to take some at a reduced price. I’m just passing along the savings.
